Valley Clean Energy, the new Community Choice Energy provider for the cities of Woodland, Davis, and unincorporated Yolo County, began receiving deliveries of energy on June 1 from the Indian Valley Hydro Project, a 3 megawatt local renewable small hydroelectric project located at the Indian Valley Reservoir on the east slope of the Coastal Range.
“We are thrilled to partner with Valley Clean Energy on this project,” said Flood Control District Board Chairwoman Mary Kimball. “This agreement is a win-win that provides benefits to the customers of both organizations. It is an opportunity for the District to sell the clean, renewable energy output of the Indian Valley hydro project to a local entity that shares our objectives of cost effective service, local control, and stewardship of natural resources.”
