Supplier Diversity

Interested in learning how to register as a diverse supplier? Find out at this upcoming event hosted by MCE and the CPUC. More on the event here.

CalCCA is proud of the CCAs’ commitment to supplier diversity. The Supplier Diversity Program, administered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), certifies diverse businesses through its Clearinghouse, providing businesses with contracting opportunities and benefits. CalCCA encourages diverse business enterprises to become certified, as well as contacting a CCA to obtain technical assistance if necessary to obtain a certification.

Pursuant to California Senate Bill 255 (2019), CCAs with gross annual revenues exceeding $15,000,000 are required to annually submit a plan for increasing procurement in the following year from small, local, and diverse business enterprises.  In addition, the same CCAs are required to annually submit a report regarding procurement from women, minority, disabled veteran, and LGBT business enterprises in the previous year. Links to the most recent CCA supplier diversity plans and reports are listed below.*

* Proposition 209 Disclaimer: As California local government entities bound by California Proposition 209, CCAs are prohibited from considering race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in their contracting and procurement decisions. Accordingly, in contrast to California’s electrical corporations, CCAs do not set Supplier Diversity targets or goals.
