Silicon Valley Clean Energy Awarded for Online Customer Resource Center
“eHub” raises awareness of the benefits of clean energy and electrification, and provides customers with online services to enable action
Minneapolis, Minn. – Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) has received The Green Power Leadership Award for Education from the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), for its creation of eHub – an online resource that helps inspire and educate the community on the use clean energy, and take action to electrify homes and transportation.
eHub is free of charge and provides SVCE customers with the latest information on electric vehicles, home electrification, and solar and battery storage. Customers can learn about electric and hybrid vehicles, compare costs of ownership for fueling and maintenance, and find available purchase incentives. Customers can also assess the costs and benefits of home solar and battery storage and receive three installation quotes with no obligation to purchase. And an all-electric appliance marketplace provides product information, costs, available rebates, and links to retail providers for purchase.
The Green Power Leadership Awards recognize outstanding leadership in the renewable energy industry by organizations that are driving green power development and adoption. eHub is recognized for its educational impact and reach within SVCE’s member communities. To help bring customers to the eHub site, SVCE has implemented comprehensive email and digital communications strategies resulting in nearly 300,000 customer visits and interactions since launch in fall of 2020.
“SVCE is honored to receive CRS recognition for eHub. Our communities prioritize clean energy, and eHub is designed to help them further their impact by electrifying,” said Girish Balachandran, SVCE CEO. “Education about the benefits of clean energy and all-electric living is key in the fight against climate change.”
SVCE provides opportunities for customers to get hands-on education through eHub as well. Through the eHub ‘Appliance Assistant’ marketplace for all-electric products, SVCE has hosted a broad range of product promotions. For example, SVCE provided customers with information and a $50 rebate on portable induction cooktops, and over 500 customers used this promotion to try out this new, high-performance appliance for cooking with clean electricity.
