New Online Marketplace Helps Customers Find Solar Solutions

New Online Marketplace Helps Customers Find Solar Solutions

April 3, 2024

ROCKLIN — Pioneer Community Energy (Pioneer), a locally owned not-for-profit electricity provider, announced today the launch of a new program for customers who want to power their own homes with electricity they generate. The online marketplace is intended to ease the process of shopping for the right solar product and installer by providing customers with quotes and product options—all in one place!

The Pioneer Solar Marketplace allows customers to search for solar and battery storage options from verified installers. Customers go online, fill in their address, provide details about their electricity panel and energy usage, and then instantly receive three bids from verified installers, for installation.

Along with your bids, the marketplace provides customers with an independent energy advisor that can schedule a call to review bids and review solar options. Customers also can utilize the marketplace to sign project agreements, schedule site visits, and track projects through installation.

As a local not-for-profit agency and an alternative to Pacific Gas & Electric, Pioneer is committed to offering the electric generation to businesses and residents at competitive and stable prices, and reinvesting the communities it serves.

Pioneer provides a one-half cent premium on net surplus compensation rate compared to PG&E, and Net Energy Metering bills are reconciled monthly. Solar contractors interested in joining the network of verified installers should visit Join Installer Network on the Pioneer website to learn more and sign up to join the network.

With an A- issuer credit rating from S&P Global, Pioneer is a community-owned, not-for-profit electricity provider serving unincorporated Placer and El Dorado counties and the incorporated areas of Auburn, Colfax, Grass Valley, Lincoln, Loomis, Nevada City, Placerville, and Rocklin. Pioneer serves nearly 170,000 residential and commercial customers and powers the communities it serves with competitive rates, exceptional local service, and a choice in energy options
