Cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and Manhattan Beach to go 100% Green
For most municipalities, electricity usage is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions. By using 100% green power, cities dramatically reduce greenhouse gas production, while taking climate action and improving public health. In October, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and Manhattan Beach will join the twelve other CPA municipalities already on 100% Green Power. This change will remove 121,096 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions from the air each year, which is the equivalent of planting 2.3 million trees or removing 31,000 cars from SoCal freeways!
Over the next months, CPA staff will be working with city staff from the three cities to notify their residents of the benefits of 100% Green Power, as well as the financial impact on their electricity bill and how they can make the choice that’s right for them, whether it’s moving to 100% Green Power, staying on the current rate plan, opting down or even opting out.
CPA continues to lead the nation in providing 100% Green Energy plans – 305,000 customer accounts and growing!
