SAN RAFAEL and CONCORD, Calif. — On November 21, local electricity provider, MCE, honored Senator Bill Dodd (D-Napa) with its 2024 Climate Action Leadership Award.
The award recognizes Senator Dodd’s unwavering commitment to confronting climate change and the community choice energy movement. As a leader on wildfire safety and prevention legislation, he has authored numerous bills to protect Californians from future fires and accompanying utility rate hikes.
In 2020, MCE created the Climate Action Leadership award to celebrate policymakers and advocates who have made bold contributions toward California’s fight against climate change through energy policy. The award is open to regulators, legislators, other policymakers, and stakeholders who have partnered with MCE to advance policies that benefit MCE’s communities and our planet.
Assemblymember Damon Connolly (D-San Rafael) was MCE’s 2023 Climate Leadership Award recipient.
